BIOGRAPHY
In 2012, JULIAN CURTIS (BFA Acting - NIDA) won the Martin Bequest Traveling Scholarship that took him to Los Angeles. Since that time, he has worked with leading industry figures including Bryan Singer ('X-Men') who produced the half hour comedy ‘Spooked’ in which he was series lead opposite Constance Wu; played Hitler opposite Peter Serafinowicz in the comedy ‘The Britishes’; collaborated with Olan Rogers on the TBS produced ‘A Knight’s Heart’; directed by Oscar winner Rick Heinrich in the pilot ‘The Gamblers’ and voiced Chuck Lorre’s WB animation pilot ‘The Hopsters’ opposite Joan Jett. Other television credits include ‘East West 101’, ‘Rescue Special Ops.’, ‘Legend of the Seeker’, ‘Adam Ruins Everything’, ‘Acting Out’, ‘Dance Academy’ and TV movie ‘Twister Warning’.
Julian is a Matilda winning stage actor for his performance in ‘True West’ at Brisbane Powerhouse. He has appeared on stage for companies including Queensland Theatre, Laboite Theatre Co., Sydney Theatre Co., Hot House, Playlab, Shake & Stir, Riverside Theatres, Darlinghurst Theatre and Carriageworks to name a few. He has had two feature films land on streaming in the past six months: Wish Man opposite Tom Sizemore and Danny Trejo; and horror picture Captured. Other film credits include Poster Boy, 48 Shades and The Middle; and past Screen QLD/NSW shorts For a Good Cause, Italian Fair, The Killing Room and A Burning Thing. As writer, Julian has been produced twice by Screen Queensland: Power the Kid and And the Winner Is. His first play Legacy was accepted into the National Workshop for Playwriting Australia in 2017 and performed at Laboite HWY in 2019.
As an Acting Coach, Julian has worked with MEAA for the past two years and also counts NIDA Open, QUT Fine Arts Acting and Toni Higginbotham Casting as some of his previous clients.
