Body. Voice. Character.
Level up your craft. The Integrated Actor connects your voice and movement to your instincts, transforming technical precision into fully realized characterisation.
Our six-week modules are designed to give you the practical building blocks to become a transformative performer. At the heart of our training is the Linklater Voice technique—a world-renowned method designed to "free the natural voice" and bridge the gap between your vocal power and your imagination.
We don’t believe in teaching these skills in isolation. Our training focuses on the nexus: where voice, movement, and character meet to create performances that are authentic, impulsive, and dynamic.
We especially encourage actors from marginalized backgrounds—whose voices and bodies have often been told to shrink, neutralize, or conform—to apply. In each module there is one full scholarship available for a First Nations actor, and one subsidised place for an actor from a marginalised background. Click here to apply for a full scholarship or subsidised place. (Applications are due by May 31st.)
Classes are limited to 12 participants to ensure a high-trust, high-energy environment where you can get personalized feedback and take creative risks.
Who is this for? Aspiring and emerging actors (Ages 16+).
Module 1: The Screen & Self-Tape Intensive
Teachers: Dr Jo Loth and Hannah Levien.
Master the digital audition. This module focuses on the technical and creative demands of Australian and US screen content.
Acting Fundamentals: Dive into script analysis, find your character's motivation, and play "actions" that pop on camera.
Vocal & Physical Power: Work on postural alignment, releasing habitual tension, and mastering breath support. Learn how your body influences your breath and ultimately connects to character.
Impulse & Connection: Learn to connect your movement and voice to your natural impulses, making your acting feel "lived-in" and spontaneous.
Technical Screen Skills: Navigate genres (from Rom-Com to Crime Thriller), master "hitting your mark," and experiment with a Standard American accent.
The Result: Finish with a dynamic, professional self-tape and a signature warm-up routine for your voice and body that you can rely on every time you’re on set.
Module 1 is a pre-requisite for Module 2.

Meisner in Action
This Class has been moved to run later in the year TBC June July 2026
MEISNER TECHNIQUE with Rob Horton
Welcome to Meisner Technique. Meisner is 'The Art of Spontaneous Action'. We teach you the way of creating MOVIE MAGIC with one of the world's most POPULAR acting techniques.
‘What makes Acting great?’: When the audience doesn’t know what the actor is going to do next. When you feel you are experiencing a story unfolding right in front of you, from moment to moment, for REAL, RIGHT NOW!
Marlon Brando was good at this. It has often been said ‘you didn’t know what he was going to do next!?’ when he was performing.
Here’s the secret: Marlon probably didn’t know what he was going to do next either.
It is said that Marlon acted from instinct. We use the word Impulse.
When actors act from impulse, their performances are ALIVE, DYNAMIC, MAGICAL. And YES, Impulse can be trained.
Using the best Actor-Training Exercise ever created, Rob will show you how to wake- up your inner impulse and to trust it to create memorable, often remarkable performances.

“I have completed a 12-week block with Andrew Buchanan at the factory studio, during this time Andrew has helped me breakdown emotional walls, push through fears and really feel in the moment. Andrew teachings are not just Meisner based, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his classes. Andrew is thoughtful ensuring a safe space and safeguarding the wellbeing of his students. Not only did I learn a great deal about acting during these classes I also learned a great deal about myself. Andrew’s techniques are effective and easy to pick up, as I am all about the Meisner technique, Andrew helped me broaden my horizons and use other techniques to my benefit. This course has given me greater confidence and new tools for my next auditions and roles that I will gain for the future.
Thank you, Andrew, and thank you Chris from the Factory this was a truly amazing experience, and I will return for more in the future..”
